
Golden Horn & Galata, Istanbul
In mid of September 2014 I spent 11 days discovering Istanbul. It was my 2nd trip to this ancient metropolis. For a photographer this huge city offers endless opportunities for great images. The Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Grand Basar, the Galata Tower and all the other tourist attractions are really worth a visit. But I liked even more discovering the smaller side streets in the older neighborhoods like Kuzguncuk in Üsküdar. Unlike major western European cities, large parts of Istanbul have never been destroyed in wars, so there are lots of ancient houses and traditionally grown neighborhoods left. Continue reading
